Club SecretaryJason has been an active member of the Strait Line Anglers (SLA) for approximately 10 years. Primarily a big water troller targeting salmon and walleye, he’s also passionate about pursuing bass, musky, perch, and catfish—making him a true multi-species angler at heart.
Now serving his second term as the club’s secretary, Jason is responsible for managing the SLA’s email communications and social media. He also plays a key role in organizing the bi-monthly members' meetings and is a regular volunteer at the club’s various tournaments and annual Kids’ Day.
He values the welcoming, friendly nature of the SLA community and is enthusiastic about the club’s positive momentum and bright future. Being part of the SLA’s continued growth and resurgence is something he finds both rewarding and exciting.

VP of Membership
Rob is a retired auto worker who now keeps busy running his own handyman business — but his true passion has always been fishing. That passion began at a young age and has only grown over the years. He enjoys chasing salmon and trout on Lake Ontario, and walleye and bass on Lake Erie, but if you ask Rob, nothing beats the thrill of targeting early spring brown trout — his favorite fish to pursue. Whether he's on the water or sharing stories with fellow anglers, Rob brings a lifetime of experience and enthusiasm to the fishing community.

VP of Competition
After retiring a decade ago, I was brought back to a lifelong passion: fishing. These days, I work part-time at Grimsby Tackle, where I've had the chance to dive deeper into the fishing world, learn the ins and outs of the business, and, most importantly, connect with a community of fellow anglers.
Though I enjoy just about every type of fishing, nothing compares to the thrill of chasing fall-run steelhead in the Great Lakes tributaries.
When I'm not fishing, I’m often tying flies and jigs or building and repairing rods — a rewarding way to stay hands-on with the sport I love. Sharing knowledge and helping others, especially those just discovering fishing for the first time, has become one of the most fulfilling parts of this chapter in my life.

Club PresidentBill has been an active member of the Strait Line Anglers (SLA) for the past 5 years and is currently serving his second term as Club President. Before joining the club, he spent much of his time supporting his children in their extracurricular activities and enjoying weekends fishing along the Grand River and the shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
As President, Bill is committed to leading the club toward a stronger, more positive future. His vision centers on promoting family-friendly fishing opportunities and creating an inclusive environment where all members can connect through their shared love of the outdoors.
Under his leadership, the club continues to emphasize that fishing is more than just catching fish—it's about making lasting memories, enjoying nature, and strengthening bonds between friends, families, and the wider community. He encourages all members to get involved—whether by attending events, volunteering, or simply spending time with fellow anglers—because every connection contributes to a more vibrant and active club.

Treasurer
Martin's love for fishing began in childhood, growing up in St. Ann’s and spending countless hours at Twenty Mile Creek chasing catfish, carp, panfish, and the occasional spring pike. Though his father wasn’t an avid angler, he made sure Martin had the tools to get out on the water — including a five-horse outboard and a rental boat during trips up north.
In high school, Martin shared his passion with friends, but after marrying his wife Brenda at age 23 and raising four kids, time for fishing became scarce. It wasn’t until 1999 that the spark truly returned, when he bought a 9.9hp motor and a 12-foot aluminum boat, reigniting his connection to the sport.
When Martin purchased Grimsby Tackle in 2011, he realized there was still much to learn — and that he wasn’t quite the expert he once thought. Since then, he’s immersed himself in the fishing world, not only growing his own knowledge but also finding ways to pass on his passion to his kids and grandkids. Today, Martin is dedicated to inspiring others to enjoy fishing, boating, and the outdoor lifestyle as much as he does.
